The recent capture of al-Libbi in Pakistan has
netted already some other big fish:
WASHINGTON, D.C. (AHN) – The ongoing interrogation of former Al Qaeda top leader Abu Faraj al-Libbi has yielded 18 arrests of his close associates. Reports indicate that the capture of al-Libbi was only a small part of multiple successful raids around the world, netting numerous Al Qaeda operatives.

According to CNN, the arrests have all come “within 48 hours”, and “seven were captured in Bajore, also on the northwestern frontier near the Afghanistan border.U.S. intelligence reports have said the same province is where al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and his top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, are believed to be hiding.”
And, a
large successful raid by Marines near the Syrian border:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Hundreds of American troops backed by helicopter gunships and warplanes swept into remote desert villages near the Syrian border Monday, hunting for followers of Iraq's most wanted terrorist and reportedly killing as many as 100 militants since the weekend operation began.
The U.S. military said some foreign fighters were believed among the insurgents killed in the first 48 hours of the assault, which began late Saturday in the border town of Qaim, about 200 miles west of Baghdad. At least three Marines were killed in the region, it said.
The Marines have also
landed in Somalia, by the way:
US Marines are said to have arrived on the shores of Somalia in search of suspected terrorists.
The Marines are believed to have landed by boat in north-eastern Somalia were they showed photographs to local villagers.
A local government official says the soldiers were looking for people suspected of terrorist activity.
