Hindsight

Last December, Senator and President hopeful Hillary Clinton declared about her vote to authorize war to remove Saddam Hussein,
"Obviously, if we knew then what we know now, there wouldn't have been a vote," she said in her usual refrain before adding, "and I certainly wouldn't have voted that way."
Ah, hindsight.

If we knew then what we know now.

Interesting.

Basically she's saying if there were a "do-over", she wouldn't go to war again.

But, if we're going to play that hindsight game, why wouldn't the right answer be,
Knowing what I know now, not only would I do it over, but I wish I could do it over to do it better!
The only way not voting for war would make sense if you could imagine doing it all over again, is if you really think the best of all possible outcomes is really having Saddam Hussein still in power today, and most likely with the sanctions crumbled, the inspectors gone, the independence of Kurdistan crushed, and weapons programs going full steam ahead.

Clearly it's just an illogical statement; policy made to satisfy polls, not rational objectives.
