More Reuters Propaganda

This outrageous bit of propaganda spewed forth from the Reuters machine.

The complete, deliberate misreporting of the "flying Imam" incident is a shameful coverup! It is a blatant case of pure lies.

It begins with the standard victimology of muslims in America. The script writes itself: muslims good; most Americans ignorant and hateful; outreach, re-education, and acceptance of the headscarf are the prescribed cures.

And a terrorist is portrayed as a misunderstood man of peace.

Gag!
Muslims face hatred, curiosity in U.S. heartland
CINCINNATI (Reuters) - Tala Ali, 25, has seen the good and the bad of being a Muslim in heartland America. People have leaned out car windows to scream at her: "Terrorist go home." But strangers curious about her headscarf have also approached her apologetically to ask about Islam.

For Ali and other Muslims who live far from America's immigrant-rich big cities, everyday life is a test of tolerance and outreach to fellow Americans who view Islam with suspicion five years after the September 11 attacks and amid bleak and bloody wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"The negative perception gets bigger by the day, despite all we do," said Inayat Malik, a doctor and board member of the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati.
Despite?
But while they are dedicated to outreach, the uphill battle of educating Americans takes its toll on optimism.

"The deluge of the media coverage with its negative portrayal is overwhelming," said Malik. "I see very little light at the end of the tunnel."
The media couldn't possibly be more positive! The "uphill battle" is a pure insult to America. Maybe it's nto because we're ignorant and evil, but because of the facts that come to light about islam through the blogosphere rather than throug the MSM?

If there were any doubt as to the calculatedly slanted nature of this piece, it then goes on to quote CAIR -- a known terror-front founded by indicted terrorists -- and one of the terrorist "flying Imams."
Karen Dabdoub fights constant brushfires in her work for the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Ohio.
...
Dabdoub said her blue eyes and white skin have not spared her the unfriendly stares often aimed at headscarved women in America.

"Once in a while somebody will smile at me, but not as much as they used to," she said.

Cincinnati's 25,000-strong Muslim community is a microcosm of American Islam. According to CAIR, about a third of America's six to seven million Muslims are South Asian, a third African American and a quarter Arab. Still others are European immigrants or Caucasian converts.
They also repeat that lie! That likely overstates the number by at least 50%.

And now what we've all been waiting for:
But despite his proudly ecumenical outlook, Al-Shqeirat hit the headlines late last year as one of the so-called "Flying Imams," a group of six Muslim clerics who were turfed off a U.S. Airways flight after some passengers and crew became alarmed at their prayers.

Looking back on the incident, Al-Shqeirat says it showed "overreaction and discrimination" by the airline. But he says it has only redoubled his commitment to outreach.

"If those people had ever been in a mosque and seen Muslims praying, they would have understood," he told Reuters, sitting in the office at his street corner mosque after evening prayers. "Anger will not take us anywhere, what we need is more education."
Liars, all of you!

This is pure propaganda from a deliberate effort to create an "incident" to push for legislation to ban profiling, which will stifle law enforcement.
Nancy Pelosi, who called herself a “proud” cosponsor of the Profiling Act in 2004, is the incoming House speaker. And in January, Ellison, who represents the district where the imams incident occurred, will take his seat in Congress.

The act, although it doesn’t as yet impose large penalties, would bar any federal, state or local law enforcement agency from “relying, to any degree, on race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion in selecting which individuals to subject to routine or spontaneous investigatory activities.” That would include questioning, searches and seizures.

One of the act’s central features is its definition of illegal profiling. Under it, if airport security personnel question passengers who are disproportionately Muslim or of Middle Eastern descent, this alone would constitute a presumptive violation of the law. Law enforcement agencies would bear the burden of proving that discrimination was not the cause.
Democrats, more worried about protecting terrorists than your life.

The full story which Reuters must know but didn't mention, is:
Muslim religious leaders removed from a Minneapolis flight last week exhibited behavior associated with a security probe by terrorists and were not merely engaged in prayers, according to witnesses, police reports and aviation security officials.

Witnesses said three of the imams were praying loudly in the concourse and repeatedly shouted “Allah” when passengers were called for boarding US Airways Flight 300 to Phoenix.

“I was suspicious by the way they were praying very loud,” the gate agent told the Minneapolis Police Department.

Passengers and flight attendants told law-enforcement officials the imams switched from their assigned seats to a pattern associated with the September 11 terrorist attacks and also found in probes of U.S. security since the attacks — two in the front row first-class, two in the middle of the plane on the exit aisle and two in the rear of the cabin.

“That would alarm me,” said a federal air marshal who asked to remain anonymous. “They now control all of the entry and exit routes to the plane.”

A pilot from another airline said: “That behavior has been identified as a terrorist probe in the airline industry.”
...
According to witnesses, police reports and aviation security officials, the imams displayed other suspicious behavior. Three of the men asked for seat-belt extenders, although two flight attendants told police the men were not oversized. One flight attendant told police she “found this unsettling, as crew knew about the six [passengers] on board and where they were sitting.” Rather than attach the extensions, the men placed the straps and buckles on the cabin floor, the flight attendant said.
...
The imams who claimed two first-class seats said their tickets were upgraded. The gate agent told police that when the imams asked to be upgraded, they were told no such seats were available. Nevertheless, the two men were seated in first class when removed.
